Knowles’ DSM supercapacitor modules use EDLC cells in series to expand energy storage capacity across a broader voltage range. Their instant charge and discharge capabilities outperform batteries, but without the shipping restrictions, thermal runaway risks, or much shorter lifespans associated with lithium-ion technology. 

Many applications today increasingly demand miniaturized surface-mount components that can perform reliably at ever-increasing working and testing voltages. As a result, Knowles recently released a new range of X1/Y2 safety-certified surface-mount multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). 

Alongside capacitors, inductors are essential components in RF and microwave applications. Ceramic core inductors provide stable inductance values, ensuring consistent performance across a broad frequency range. These qualities make them ideal for applications where low loss and high efficiency at high frequency are critical.

Whether used in signal filtering, impedance matching or energy storage, ceramic core inductors play a vital role in optimizing circuit performance. As demand for high-performance RF components grows, Knowles is offering high-Q ceramic core inductors for superior efficiency and reliability, making them well-suited for standard and high reliability applications.

Growing demand for high-energy, reliable and compact converters in electric vehicles (EVs) and other industrial and energy applications is encouraging development in components likemultilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). MLCCs are known for their excellent electrical properties, reliability, and compact size; however, the demands they face only continue to grow.

As electric vehicle (EV) adoption for both consumer and commercial purposes rapidly grows, so does the need for a more widespread, and faster, charging infrastructure. While we’ve seen vast improvements in charging technology in the last few years, as additional regulations on combustion vehicles are implemented and reliance on EVs increases, further EV charging innovations are needed. Currently, wireless charging is the newest EV charging technology evolving.
